I am a small
home-based hobby breeder. All of my dogs are raised in my home, in
the midst of things with lots of love and attention. I do not have kennels nor
do I have a great number of dogs. Puppies are well socialized and
exposed to various aspects of life throughout their early development. I
feel this is of utmost importance to the well-being of all dogs both show
and companion animals.
I prefer to
breed quality, not quantity and I am privileged to be able to
own some of the finest dogs from both coasts. I only produce 2-3 litters
per year and choose my companion homes carefully. I feel that
temperament of the dog is a primary consideration in breeding, and
finding a quality home for my puppies is my highest goal.
I guarantee the
health of my pups for a full year, and will take a puppy back at any
time, for any reason, for life.
Puppies sold as
companions will have limited AKC registration and must be spayed or neutered
no later than 6 months of age. This is NON-NEGOTIABLE! Don't even ask.
When you
purchase a puppy from me I will make every attempt to ensure that you and the
puppy have a long happy life together. This includes a 3 generation
pedigree, vaccine records, baby pictures of your new pup, moral support,
advice, and a lifetime commitment to take the dog back. I am
always available to assist in any issues that might arise with your new puppy.
I also insist on frequent updates and of course PICTURES!!
There are a lot of breeders out there with a lot more dogs, a
lot more titles, and flashier websites. But buyer beware---the
title of CH may not truly indicate the quality of the dog. Most
dogs can be finished with time and effort and a placement in a dog show is the
judge's $20 opinion and sometimes that opinion is influenced by the person
holding the leash--not the dog on the end of it. A title of Champion is
also no guarantee of temperament.
I have been told that this honest approach may scare
some people off. Perhaps that is my intent. I do not sell to
puppymills, pet stores, or a person just looking to "breed some
dawgs". I have worked with rescue for many years and know what
happens to pups not carefully placed in companion homes.
Thank you for your interest in my dogs.

Couple more things you should know about Toy Manchesters. First--this is
a rare breed. Second--breeders seem to be in "pockets"
throughout the country and are sorta regional. What this means primarily
is that they are NOT readily available. You cannot just decide you want
one and find one available. My best advice for you in your quest, is to
find a breeder you like, have tons of communication with them and then GET ON
THEIR WAITING LIST AND WAIT!!!! Most litters are spoken for even before
they are born. It can take a while to find a puppy, so it's better to
wait for one from a reputable breeder (even if it's not me!) I myself
have waited up to a year for a dog from a breeder--so don't think it is just
you.
Don't
despair. There will be a dog for you, but you gotta be patient.
Keep in touch with the breeder of your choice and good luck!!
A word of caution. Be
very careful when choosing your new puppy. We are seeing a lot more ads
lately on various websites selling Manchesters for incredibly low
prices. Again, ask lots of questions, make sure they can provide proof
of the health testing, and be careful! You are potentially going to
spend 10+ years with this animal, and you want to ensure you get the best
possible dog for your household. That old phrase "you get what you
pay for" applies!

Why should I spay or neuter my pet? This
is one of the most commonly asked questions. There is a lot of
information available on the internet, but the link below is a good place to start.
